The solution to the PBS debate
May. 16th, 2005 05:12 pmThe solution to the PBS debate isn’t to cow-tow to Republicans that want it to become more conservative.
The solution is to demand that we quadruple the funding for PBS. Use the money to create a second one. We can have a liberal PBS and a conservative one. Both get equal budgets and any donations to either have to be split 50/50 with the other.
We can continue to have the diversity-promoting Sesame Street, and they can create some kind of fucked up Ann Rand tv-show for kids that tells them that life his hopeless and they better learn to survive on their own in the wild eating bugs if they want to get anywhere.
