On Easter I had a premonition that my father would die this year. Spooky, eh?

Early this week I got a fortune cookie saying, "You will inherit money." I always considered this fortune a curse: it means someone near you will die soon.

The very next meal I was at a different chinese restaurant and got a fortune cookie saying, "You will inherit a lot of money." The curse was upgraded.

Thursday night I got a phone call at 10:05pm. It was my sister Rose calling to say that our Uncle Tony and Aunt Anita had been in a car accident, that it was serious. My Uncle Tony is my brother's closest brother. Uncle Tony and Aunt Anita are my godparents. Out of my dozen or more aunts and uncles there are they only ones that I'm at all close to. They (all my aunts and uncles) all live near my parents in Connecticut. Could my premonition be off by one, striking my uncle instead of my father?

The car accident was a big one. My Uncle was driving and they went off the road. They hit a tree. Witnesses dragged them from the car and a few moments later the car exploded. Witnesses say that it was unreal, like something you'd only see in a movie but it was happening right in front of them.

He had a collapsed lung and two broken legs. She was much better, but also serious enough to be in the hospital.

This morning (Saturday) I got another call from my sister. Uncle Tony is dead. Funeral arrangements are being made.
