It was a well-written speech. Really well-written. "West Wing" well written. Sadly it was a package of lies tied together with a bow of agenda that is, completely and utterly, debasing to American values. "Protection of Marriage" my foot.

I avoided it so I wouldn't have to hear him say nukyular eleven more times. (cf. last year: I counted them). I will vote for the first candidate to say this word correctly in a nationally televised speech.

Why does no one have the balls to just _tell_ him about this? (Or maybe they did, and it didn't stick. The mind reels.)

I thought it was pretty poor. He said that the notion that the danger is behind us is understandable, comforting and false. Well, I know a strawman argument when I see one. No one is saying the danger is behind us. The debate is not on whether the danger is behind us. The debate is over what to do about it.

And he took credit for the fact that there have been no terrorist attacks since Sept 11. Poor logic if ever I saw any. You can't tell if precautions work. You can only tell when they don't work.
