The client isn’t shipping yet, but if you have a Mac, just use iChat and set up a jabber account.

Other Jabber clients work too, but iChat autoconfigs while the others make you figure out which encryption options to use.

Due to the silly 6-character minimum, I wound up with ckdckd. Now iChat says 'waiting for authorization' to add you to my buddy list....

Currently it's probably more apropos to say that you should keep on trying clients until one of them works for you.

I still have the iChat registration bug - but that aside, it doesn't seem to work with google's talk. Fire and gaim also failed, but Adium worked reliably.

Other people have reported different combinations of working/not working.

Will your icon be work-safe? I'm using Adium and turned off connect notification after your icon came up the first time.
