Where to find non-bisexual bisexuals?
Oct. 8th, 2002 10:30 amI'm on the planning committee for BiZone's Endless Possibilities Conference.
The conference is Nov 15-17, 2002 in Princeton New Jersey. More info is on www.EndlessPossibilities.org (on-line registration available here).
We've really put a lot of effort to make this a conference that will be useful/interesting/fun for people that don't call themselves bisexual. There is a lot of poly content, sex content, and content for people that may be interested in members of the same sex, but aren't actively bisexual.
Our keynote speaker is Cecilia Tan, author and bi/poly/kinky activist and author of science fiction and erotica.
Here's the problem: I don't know how to reach people that don't call themselves bisexual. I'd like to enlist people to give me tips, or to volunteer to help advertise in the places that people hang out. For example, coffee shops, alternative music scenes, etc.
So, how do I reach these people?

Date: 2002-10-08 08:17 am (UTC)For men, a suggested tagline is 'Do you have sex with men too' worked here. The 'too' is important, because of course (as far as they're concerned) if you're a man, you have sex with women.
For women - 'bi-curious'?

Date: 2002-10-08 09:36 am (UTC)I would agree with the personal ads kind of thing...out here it would be natural to me to put announcements in the W4W and M4M sections of craigslist. I assume you're putting announcements up in your local queer-friendly businesses already? What about local college campuses? If it were Madison, I could see putting up a notice in the student unions and advertising in the Isthmus.
