Political parties no longer define themselves by what they stand for. They define themselves by what they dislike, or distrust.

The Democrats don't trust corporations.
The Republicans don't trust the citizens.
The Libertarians don't trust the government.

They can always argue until they are blue in the face because none of them are wrong. It's isn't like arguing whether the sky is blue or not. It isn't cut-and-dried, black-and-white. It's more like Rock Papers Scissors. Rock isn't always right, neither is Paper or Scissors.

I think I've figured out why people are apathetic about politics. It's because they don't trust corporations, government, *OR* the citizens.

And they certainly don't trust political parties.

For good reason, too. Trust corporations and they fuck over their employees' pensions, like Enron. Trust government, and they chip away at your rights. Trust your fellow citizens, and they rat you out. Trust the political parties...well, ha.

That said, I am a registered Green, fwiw.
