Corporate service dweeb
Sep. 20th, 2007 04:46 pmI’m such a corporate perk dweeb this week.
I’m visiting the Mountain View (main campus) of Google. I have a hotel room and a rental car (paid for by the company).
While walking across campus I noticed the company that does haircuts is here. They have an 18-wheeler with 4 cutting stations inside. So I got my hair cut. I have a formal even this coming weekend, so this was good timing.
From there I went to the laundry room (one of two on this campus) and did a load of laundry. I used the Google-provided (organic “Seventh Generation” brand) laundry soap. I’m half-way through my trip and this was perfect timing.
While doing laundry, I’m sitting in a chair with my laptop on the WiFi doing work.
Speaking of laundry, I used the dry-cleaning drop-off the other day to have my suit cleaned. No, I don't wear a suit to work. I brought it for a wedding I'm going to this weekend. The cleaned suit will be delivered to my desk by Friday 10am.
Of course, I’m eating 3 meals a day at corporate cafeterias.
If I get my work done early, I’m gonna hit the Japanese massage-chair.
