Internet Presidential Primary
Jun. 21st, 2003 08:06 amDear friend, I'm writing to ask you to take part in MoveOn.org's presidential primary. Too often, the real choices in presidential nomination processes are made long before the real primaries. Pundits, pollsters and big donors shouldn't be the only voices that count at this early and important stage of the process. MoveOn's primary will give at least 1.4 million people the opportunity to make their voices heard. You can be one of them by registering to vote in the MoveOn Primary here: http://www.moveon.org/pac/reg/ Thank you.
What's really cool about this is that while it isn't an official primary, it will have a real impact. You know how if 1 candidate does really well in the New Hampshire primary it really sets the focus on them and they tend to rule the show for the rest of the primary? Well, this might take that power away from New Hampshire. Imagine if Dean comes out miles ahead of everyone else. It's going to make a bunch of candidates drop out.
(And why is this important? Because the #1 thing that the Democrats need right now is for 8 of their 9 candidates to drop out.)
