I saw Super Size Me (the movie about the guy that eats nothing but McDonalds for a month) and I highly recommend it to others. Sadly, about half way through I felt faint and had to leave for a couple minutes. It wasn't anything gross, I just can't watch someone getting sicker and sicker without feeling sick myself. Watch it on an empty stomach.

I was really impressed that he covered the politics of school lunch programs, and showed that there are some companies out there providing really excellent school lunch programs, and the result is better behaved kids. While my SO has a lot of doubt when I talk about things like The Feingold Diet for Hyperactive Children and how it turned me from a 5th grade uncontrollable child to a 6th grade GAT student, even she was impressed when they showed that good diet in a school lunch program resulted in better behaved kids. The school was one for "at risk" kids and from the look of the video footage, you'd think they were at a private boarding schoool. What a turn-around!

I think everyone in the country should see this movie.

After words, Ying and I went to the supermarket and bought salad stuff and had dinner consisting of salad with watermelon for dessert.

Yeah--I agree--I wasn't too keen on watching him eat that lunch on the 3rd day (ick). However, I did enjoy the scenes of the surgery--that was done really well.

(heh--and his girlfriend talking about their sexlife...that was amusing.. ;) )

I wonder if I should get the large bucket of popcorn and economy-sized Junior Mints with a mega-large diet Coke to watch it with...;-)

Seriously, I am sort of curious about this movie.

Thanks for the Feingold link. I have known for years that Molly is very sensitive to artificial food coloring so we avoid it-first pediatrician thought I was nuts, but she stopped having headaches as soon as we eliminated them. I work with lots of ASD kids and while it's not a cure, eliminating alot of this stuff can make a big difference. I think some kids are more sensitive than others and to certain things.p
