Tom Delay Indicted

House Majority Leader DeLay today was indicted by a Texas grand jury along with two political associates on charges of conspiring to make a political contribution in violation of Texas state law to help elect a Republican majority in the Texas House of Representatives.

If there is justice, he will be removed from congress. I mean, Republicans are always talking about being the party that takes responsibility for action, right? So it’s time for him to take responsibility and resign.

The investigation also revealed that he took donations from a business group heavily involved in sex trade in a third-world country. In short, he was paid by lobbyist to protect Saipan’s child-prostitution rings from being declared illegal.

House Majority Whip Tom DeLay (R-Texas) was once known as “Hot Tub Tom” for parties he threw in his Texas Legislature days when, by his own admission, he drank up to 12 martinis a night. He fought hard to impeach President Clinton in 1999 and made his name on family values.

If getting a blowjob from a hot BBW gets you impeached, this man should be jailed.

Oooooh yeah.

I think I just had an orgasm.

Monica's a BBW? She looks pretty average-sized to me. Did I miss the part of the media storm where that Gap dress was *gasp* size 14?

DeLay's a shady character and I have no doubt that he's done things that would land less priveleged people in Camp Cupcake for Men. I somehow doubt he'll see his day in jail, though.

Nor will Bill Frist see any slammer time, the way Martha Stewart did for the same crime.

The sound bite I gave to my Rep a few weeks back was, "It's time to clean up Congress without Delay."

Ok, she isn't a BBW. However, since she isn't anorexic everyone was calling her "fat".

But, but, but... He SWEARS he's innocent! That should be good enough for everyone!

I've got his next campaign slogan... "STILL innocent until proven guilty."

Treat him as innocent until proven guilty. The way we treated Jose Padilla.

I mean, Republicans are always talking about being the party that takes responsibility for action, right?

Sure, if by that you mean they're the party that talks about other people taking responsibility for their actions, but avoids doing so themselves whenever possible. < /snark>

I didn't know about the donations from sex-trade-linked business interests, nor the 12-martini-and-hot-tub nights. How on earth did scum like that make his name on family values?!

My first class on Wednesday isn't until the afternoon, so I got the newsflash before I went in. I made an announcement to the lunch crowd at my southern Christian divinity school; you should have heard the cheer that went up!

It worries me that after all that time the AG was only able to come up with _one_ count on the indictment. Do you really think he can make it stick?
