C and I saw Avenue Q on broadcast last night. It totally rocked. Imagine a show for queerfolk that grew up watching Sesame Street, watching Muppets, and wished there was a show for them. Though, I think 90% of the audience was str8, everyone enjoyed the show... not that there’s anything wrong with that.
One of the best songs is sung by Trekiemonster with Kate Monster: The Internet is For Porn. Of course, there is also I’m Not Wearing Underwear Today , If You Were Gay, What do you do with a B.A. in English?.
They wove a bunch of really excellent songs into a cohesive story that said a lot about modern society and how we all cope.
I hate to admit it, but it ended my depression with the recent political ugliness. Anyone else that is depressed about recent political events should watch this for a little pick-me-up.
