Party Preparations and Sangria

Last night after work I went to the A&P and Trader Joes to buy stuff for my birthday party Friday night. I completely love Trader Joes, and wish they were bigger so I didn't have to buy the remainder of my list at A&P. However, if they were bigger then they wouldn't be the great place they are. Sigh.

While shopping I realized how little I entertain. There I was with a shopping cart of stuff realizing that I'm 36 years old and I have no way to calculate the right cheese-to-crackers ratio or salsa-to-chips ratio.

When I got home C was there making sangria, or I should say waiting to make sangria since I had half the ingredients that she needed. We sliced fruit together and got it all going. We tasted it raw... it's pretty obvious why sangria needs to sit over night before its ready. It just didn't taste right.

Go microbes! Go!

The Plot Against Sex in America

My reply: There are days when I think what we need is a political party that does nothing but support sexual freedoms.

As told by a co-worker today

Robert Tuffie and his Ph.Dogs

Robert Tuffie (toy poodle 1970-1985) received an honorary Dogtorate of Philosophy from the University of Chicago Magazine in 1982. He is also rumored to have received the following degrees:

  • Doctor of Canine Letters from the University of Pettsburgh
  • Doctor of Dogmatic Theology from Catolic University
(I have the evidence for the U of Chicago Magazine!)

Strange Packets

My reply: Gosh, I wonder if I got a group of people to start sending random UDP packets to random people, how long would it be before anyone noticed.
