“At a point in every person’s life, one has to look deeply into the mirror of one’s soul and decide one’s unique truth in the world, not as we may want to see it or hope to see it, but as it is.”
Gov. James E. McGreevey, August 12, 2004

The governor’s story is the story of the struggle of every gay American who has had to live a life of denial, in the shadows. His grace and dignity when faced with the difficult decision he faced today, was awe-inspiring. Let this be the last generation in which anyone has to make that decision.

Please, join us in reaching out to the governor to express our support and let him know how much his honesty means to us. We need to counteract the feeding-frenzy that has already started in the media.

Oh please.

You know? I couldn't care less about who the man sleeps with, so that's not the issue. The simple fact of the matter is that he abused the powers of his office to appoint his lover to a job that his lover wasn't qualified for. And yes, that's been done hundreds of thousand of times - we all know someone who's slept with the boss to get ahead.

The matter that bothers me the most? He cheated on his wife. Regardless of your idealogical background, we all can agree that one of the very few things that is worse than cheating on someone is being the one cheated on.

Gay, bi, straignt? It doesn't matter. He broke laws, ignored standards of ethical conduct, and when forced to come clean about it, did so gracefully.

I have no problem with the "cheating" as long as she was in the loop and/or just didn't care. I do have problems with the more standard-issue crummy politician behavior, though.

I disagree. His cheating, consensual or not, is between him and his wife. It's the abuse of powers of office and then spinning it so it sounds like part of his declaration of identity that bugs me.
