No jobs back at the old place

I had lunch with my old boss today. I wanted to see how things were without me, and if I ended my leave of absence would they take me back. He said they had no open headcount right now, but coud pay fee per projects. The 2 projects he had in mind were interesting, but I'm not sure if it's the right thing to take little projects in hopes of there being a full-time opening anytime soon.

At least he didn't ask me to join the Q/A department. That would have sucked.

They're letting talent slip away. I hope I hear about them hiring some new talent soon.
